Diagnostic criteria for schizoaffective disorder, depressed an uninterrupted period of illness during which, at some time, there is a major depressive episode (which must include criterion a(1) for major depression: depressed mood) concurrent with symptoms that meet criterion a for schizophrenia: characteristic symptoms: at least two of the following, each present for a significant portion of time during a one month (or less if successfully treated) note: only one criterion a symptom is required if delusion are bizarre or hallucinations consist of a voice keeping a running commentary on the person;s behavior or thought, or two or more voices conversing with each other.
